| Not too far from here... a beaten and battered young lady with two girls, ages five and seven,trying to make a new life away from an abusive husband/father; Not too far from here... a single mother and child sleeping on a cold floor with only a few pieces of clothing to keep them warm; Not too far from here... a husband and wife with five children, building a new life, move into an affordable apartment, but have no beds to sleep on, or a dining room table for family meal time...no furniture to make a barren room a home; Not too far from here... children are sleeping on bare floors and eating there too; Not too far from here... These are our neighbors, living in the same town and you and I. Mishmash & Muddle is a division of A Lift Up Org, a 501(c)3 non-profit social service agency. All proceeds from sales at Mishmash & Muddle benefit A Lift Up Org in Elko County. OUR MISSION & VISION Founded in July 2002, as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity, led by Christian values, our mission is Christian stewardship, serving God, and assisting people. We accomplish this by collecting your donations, food, furniture, and household items and distributing them to a wide variety of worthy and needy people, families in transition from devastation to family independence, maintaining self-esteem and enabling a meaningful lifestyle. Our vision is to make this world a little brighter for those in need. We do this by following in our founder's footsteps by offering random acts of kindness to individuals without any strings attached. The Lord provides for us so that we may provide for others. By offering help with "no-strings-attached," Frank hoped his kindness would reflect his love of the Lord and perhaps instill a "pay-it-forward" attitude in those assisted, thereby creating a trickle down affect of random acts of kindness, with the ultimate glory being given to the Lord. |
